Amanda was born and raised in Oklahoma, and has loved art since she was a youngster. Although she did not take many art courses since high school, she has become a self-taught artist, continuing to learn and broaden her skills. Throughout the years, she was involved in teaching arts and crafts for Vacation Bible School and enjoyed the thrill on the children’s faces. In 2013, she became a published illustrator with “Cora’s Way: A Story of Kindness,” a children’s book written by her friend and mentor, Christina Bloomer Kiser. This book was dedicated to the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Teams. All the proceeds went toward their service in helping others in times of need. Her second illustration is currently in progress. She is presently pursuing a career in teaching special education and hopes to use her gift to help others with special needs. She is thankful to a part of the Wine and Palette Team and that she will be able to share her creativity with members of the community.
